It seems like there have been a couple of different network problems that people have encountered over the past few days. Please let us know if you encounter ANY problems accessing ANY databases from off campus or from on campus.
If you are on campus, particularly in Massey Hall, and you have encountered an error message such as “… you are accessing an unsecured source …” and it gives you no option to click through to access the database, try deleting the first part of the URL which automatically directs users through the EZProxy server.
For instance, the URL for the Lexis Nexis database would be altered from
to become http://www.lexisnexs.com/us/lnacademic/
Again, if you are on campus, this should clear things up and allow you to access the database. We are looking into the reason for the above mentioned problem and hope to have this resolved shortly.
Lastly, if you have not yet upgraded to Internet Explorer 8 and are still using Internet Explorer 7, you are encouraged to PLEASE update your browser, as per the 1/21/10 Security Alert from the Help Desk:
